Dear parents/guardians
Welcome to another school year. I hope you had a rest-filled summer with family and friends and I hope that the summer months provided a time for rejuvenation. I want to take this opportunity to welcome back our returning families. I look forward to continuing our journey with you and your child. I also want to welcome our first-time parents to the Monsignor Doyle community. This is the start of an important and exciting journey with your family. Be assured that the staff is here to work with you and your child and help them develop the skills and knowledge they will need to be successful beyond high school.
Our School Board has embarked on a new three year Pastoral Plan – Awaken, Strengthen & Ignite. This year’s theme is Awaken. When I reflected on this year’s theme, I looked where we have been for the past 2.5 years as we lived through the pandemic. I feel that the pandemic has somewhat put us in a COVID stupor so to say. So I feel the theme of Awaken is apropos. We need to awaken to a post-pandemic world which in some cases is different to our pre-COVID world which for me is both exciting and sometimes scary. As we journey forward, the staff here at Monsignor Doyle are committed to ensuring the best possible faith-filled education experience for your child.
There have been no changes to the Administrative team here at Doyle and I am very fortunate to get to work with Mrs. Monica Carlin and Mr. Michael Sullivan for another year. There has been a slight re-alignment to the student caseload for Mrs. Carlin and Mr. Sullivan. Mrs. Carlin will now be responsible for students beginning with the last name A to Hickman and Mr. Sullivan will be responsible for students beginning with the last name Hiller to R. I will be responsible for students with the last name S to Z.
A gentle reminder that our opening Catholic School Advisory Committee (formerly School Council) meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 27th at 6:30 PM via MS Teams. This meeting is open to all parents, so please consider joining the council. See our website under the Parent link for further details.
I highly encourage you to sign up for the newswire service which may be found on our school’s website in the “News” section on the opening page. (https://doyle.wcdsb.ca/).
Finally, should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or one of the other members of the administration team.
Sincerely,
Lou Bellini – Principal
