We Walk the Path of Learning, Faith and Respect Together

Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School officially opened in 1976 as a junior high school. We are located in South Cambridge, Ontario and are often referred to as a “diamond in the rough”, or a “hidden gem” within the WCDSB. In 1995, we added onto the original structure as we were a growing high school. In the Fall of 2006, we built another addition to accommodate more students. We currently have 1000+ students enrolled and 112 amazing staff consisting of wonderful teachers, educational assistants, youth care workers, custodians and secretaries who all play an integral part of making Doyle the gem it is.

Some of our most famous graduates have pursued wonderful vocations as teachers currently at Doyle, as well as a priest-Father John Paul Bolger with the Companions of the Cross.

Doyle is a very special place. Our school motto represents what we believe and how we choose to act at our school. It flows from our rich heritage as a Catholic learning community. As a school community, we believe that we are all on a journey back to God, our Creator. We believe that education is a partnership with students, parents, parishes and community. First and foremost, we are about learning. That is our responsibility. As a Catholic school, however, we do this in the context of our faith and in an atmosphere of respect for self, others, property and the needs of the entire school community. That is why “We walk the path of learning, faith and respect together.”

Doyle prides itself on giving back to the community in which it is a part. We have staff and students who volunteer at Bridges, our local community shelter as well as at the Ontario Christian Gleaners. The Gleaners supplies soup for areas in our world that suffer from acute hunger and poverty. In fact, this past year, it became our “We School in Action” local outreach. Students in grade 12, the social justice committee and our “We Day” team worked diligently to bring awareness of this organization and to raise funds to support what they do in our world.
Doyle is a school that strives for excellence in academic achievement, with our outreach to community organizations, as well as through our athletic teams and extra- curricular clubs. Most notable is our badminton team with its many accomplishments over the years, our rich Arts program and our Mustang wrestling team which has captured many CWOSSA titles over the years and is a cornerstone of our community.
Students and staff at Doyle demonstrate our faith in action daily. We define ourselves as people who live out our faith and who walk the path that Jesus has called us to walk. This faith in action is most important to our school community. We are fortunate to have a chaplain for our community who leads us to hear the message of Christ and to follow what we are called to do. This is accomplished through our liturgies, Advent and Lenten activities, but mostly by modelling for all of us what it means to be a Monsignor Doyle Catholic student or staff member.
Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School shares the mission and vision of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board- to educate and nurture hope in every learner to achieve their full potential to transform God’s world.
