Attention students and Parent(s)/Guardian(s), 

As we wrap up semester one, we want to draw your attention to a few important reminders. 

  • Final assessment days are January 24th – January 29th.   
  • January 30th is a credit rescue day – you will be informed by your child’s teacher if they are required to come to school that day.
  • January 31st is a PD Day – Students DO NOT attend.
  • February 3rd is the first day of semester two.

 

Please note the following regarding final assessment days:

These days are mandatory and attendance will be taken. Students in grades 11 and 12 may have an exam, but all grades will have a final evaluation to complete on each of these days.  Final evaluations can take many forms, i.e. performance-based tasks, portfolios, demonstrations, projects, interviews, conferences, etc. All students are to be in full uniform during final assessments and credit rescue.

The schedule for our final evaluation days are as follows:

January 24th – Period 1 Final Evaluation 8:35-10:35 am (Buses Depart at 10:50 am)

January 27th  – Period 2 Final Evaluation 8:35-10:35 am (Buses Depart at 10:50 am)

January 28th  – Period 3 Final Evaluation 8:35-10:35 am (Buses Depart at 10:50 am)

January 29th – Period 4 Final Evaluation 8:35-10:35 am (Buses Depart at 10:50 am)

*Credit Rescue will occur in the afternoons – any student, in any grade, may be required by their teacher to attend to finish incomplete evaluations/assessments. Students are responsible for their own transportation on these days.

January 30th – An additional Credit Rescue day. No transportation provided.

Inclement weather and school closures can happen anytime, including during final evaluation days.  If ANY WCDSB secondary school is closed or school transportation is cancelled due to inclement weather, ALL WCDSB final evaluations will be moved to the following day.

For example, if Tuesday, January 28th is an inclement weather day, evaluations scheduled will occur on Wednesday, January 29th, and all subsequent evaluations will move forward one day. This would eliminate the additional credit rescue day on January 30th. January 31st will still be a PD Day and semester two will still begin on February 3rd.
