Good Morning,
The Government of Canada has announced the new one-time Grocery Rebate payment to support low- and modest-income Canadians and families who need it most, with up to an extra $467 for eligible couples with two children; up to an extra $234 for single Canadians without children; and an extra $225 for seniors, on average. The payment will be delivered to eligible Canadians on July 5, 2023, by direct deposit or cheque through the Canada Revenue Agency.
Did you know that July is the first month where taxpayers receive their eligible payments if they filed they taxes on time? If you work with low-modest income individuals or newcomers, July is a great month to host a presentation providing information on benefits and credits available to them. This allows the individuals to ensure that they are receiving all benefits and credits where they meet the eligibility conditions and serves as a reminder to file their taxes as early as possible if they have missed the deadline of April 30, 2023.
Please feel free to connect with me via email or phone, 416-427-4680, if you think your clients could benefit from a virtual or an in-person information session, presentation or Q & A period.
In addition to presentation specific for newcomers and modest income individuals, we have explicit presentations for students, international students, 65+ adults, housing insecure individuals, persons with disabilities and indigenous peoples.
