To determine which hand you shoot with, you need to determine your Eye Dominance.

So much of archery is based on what you see. Just because you do things with your right or left hand, does not mean you shoot archery the same way.

First and most importantly, DO NOT buy your bow online. Always go to a dealer and try them. Especially with a Recurve Bow, they should be sized to the person using it.

A good place to start your search is a The Bow Shop in Waterloo.

I myself deal with them and they have a wide range of equipment at various price points and their staff is very knowledgeable. There are other places to purchase as well, but this is the closest to our area.

I am in no way associated with this business nor am I promoting them, I am just providing information if you are looking to purchase.

What is a Genesis Bow?

The Genesis® Original is the first compound bow developed to fit virtually everyone – making it the perfect choice for archers of all sizes.

The Genesis Original has just one cam. This means no tuning problems, much less recoil, more accurate shooting, and less noise.

What is a Recurve Bow?

The recurve bow is the modern evolution of traditional bows that have existed for 1000s of years. The limbs positioned at the top and bottom of the bow curve back away from the archer at each tip. This is what gives the ‘re-curve’ its name.

Recurve has been the bow style used at the Olympic Games since archery’s reintroduction to the program in 1972. The rules for the recurve bow have evolved with technology and competitive standards but have remained largely unchanged since World Archery was founded in 1931.
