Dear Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School Students and Families,

As you may have heard, the Minister of Education recently announced schools will remain closed until May 1st with students returning on May 4th (at this point).

This was not a surprise but still difficult to hear!  At this point we are moving to our Phase II of ‘Learning from Home’ and we have the confidence that we will be able to deliver your curriculum (the Big Ideas/enduring expectations) moving forward beginning on Monday, April 6th.

We have attached a letter from Loretta Notten, Director and Bill Conway, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board highlighting the recent announcement and the implications it has on all of us.

We are currently working on a distribution plan for all those students who requested a Chromebook and we will communicate that shortly.

The Board is also working on a platform that will contain numerous additional resources that families can access.

At this point, we hope that your child’s teachers have reached out to you and, beginning on Monday, please continue to monitor your online platform and email for each of your classes.

We will do our absolute best to deliver the best possible ‘Learning from Home’ experience but please be patient with all of us as we enter this new way of delivering curriculum.

God Bless each of you and your families!

On behalf of the Monsignor Doyle staff, take care and we hope to see you soon!
