On Thursday June 13th, Grade 10 Civics students at Monsignor Doyle participated in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) Finals.
This is a program where youth, schools and charities work together to support local organizations and vulnerable people through grants and public awareness.
This year, seven outstanding teams presented on behalf of various charities in the Waterloo region.
The winner of the $5,000 YPI grant was the Sexual Assault Support Centre Waterloo Region, represented by Nikki Correia and Layla Braga.
The Sexual Assault Support Centre aims to educate, support and empower all survivors of sexual violence.
